#1 – What are some of the challenges facing the iGaming market?

Marcus Vernon

Realex Payments

“I think the major challenges affecting gaming operators right now are probably emerging markets and banking relationships. There’s a lot of competition in the market as well.”

Ian Nicholson

Realex Payments

“Liquidity, building brand awareness and creating the right gaming experience to attract players to come time and time again.”

“I think one of the key challenges facing us now is speed. The video game space and casual game operators, who are innovating and challenging legislation regimes around the world, innovate at a speed that is unheard of in gambling and in iGaming in general. There’s absolutely no reason why the iGaming industry cannot innovate faster.”

“We have an excuse – we blame regulation, we blame the law. ‘We can’t innovate, we can’t do things fast because of legislation; we have to move at the speed of regulation.’ We don’t. We can push legislation; we can innovate within existing regulatory frames.”

#2 – How do payment service providers like Realex Payments help iGaming businesses to operate?>

Tony Plaskow

Head of Sales and Business Development at Vermantia

“I think they’re starting to provide a lot more analytics and personable service and I think that’s where the successful payment companies, like Realex, are doing well. They understand account management and how to work with operators as partners.”

“None of us stay in business unless people can adequately pay us, and unless we have a fully operational and trustworthy method of providing payment operations to our customers, then we can have the best games in the world, and no-one will ever play them.”

“The ability to get money in and get money out and trust your provider – if we lose that trust, even a little bit, we’ve lost the player. That can mean we’ve lost thousands of dollars in a moment. So the payments providers – that’s the foundation. If we don’t have it, we have nothing to build on.”

Ian Nicholson

Realex Payments

“We take all the risk and the thinking behind providing a service that is absolutely fit for purpose. This allows the gaming companies to focus on marketing and creating the games.”

Rasmus Sojmark

CEO and Founder of Oddslife and Founder of Sports Betting Community

“I know some good companies, one of them being Realex Payments – an amazing company. They are choosing good clients to work with; they are choosing the right events to sponsor.”

“I think, personally, it’s more about who you work with as well as who you network with and I know Realex has made a huge effort to show itself commercially as well as socially.”
