Realex Payments is delighted to announce the appointment of Dave Wills as UK General Manager & Sales Director. Dave arrives at Realex Payments with an exceptional level of payments expertise. He has over 15 years of senior management experience at Barclays and Lloyds Banking Group, with particular expertise in merchant acquiring and commercial card issuing.
Commenting on the appointment, Dave Wills said:
“Global Payments’ international presence and strong global brand gives Realex Payments access to new markets across the world.”
“The opportunity here is unprecedented, and we will be growing the sales team to deliver on it.”
Previous to his current role, Dave was Head of Card Sales at Lloyds Banking Group and Head of Merchant Services at Lloyds’ Cardnet Division. During his time there, he led the team that achieved Cardnet’s largest ever client win (as regards transaction volume). This, and other major wins that occurred over an 18 month period, saw Cardnet’s transaction volumes grow more than 60%.
While leading Cardnet’s Multicurrency and Cross-Border proposition development, Dave played an important role in securing Cardnet’s first global airline deal. On the Commercial Card side of the business, Dave lead the team that secured Lloyds’ largest ever commercial card client wins, contributing to more than 20% segment growth.
International Business Development
Further to Dave Wills’ appointment, Andrew Yoakley has taken on the role of Commercial & International Business Development Director. Andrew joined Realex Payments in 2002, just two years after its foundation, and as Head of Business Development, he played an important role in its success story.
Under Andrew’s sales leadership, the company has scaled enormously – today it has over 13,000 clients and handles £23bn worth of transactions per annum. In his new role, Andrew will be focussed on the international growth and scaling of the business as it capitalises on its expanding global opportunities.
Realex Payments’ Managing Director, Gary Conroy, said,
“It’s an exciting time for our scaling company, and collectively we look forward to accelerated future growth as part of the Global Payments family.”
