November 2006 - Irish Internet Association Net Visionary Awards 2006

On the 16th of November last in Killiney Castle in Dublin, the annual Irish Internet Association awards took place. The awards were a great success, acknowledging the work and dedication of so many individuals.

Speaking at the awards, Colm Lyon, Managing Director of Realex Payments and Chairman of the Irish Internet Association, said that the Irish Internet Industry was capable of transforming the Irish economy and that many Irish businesses were now engaged in the internet in a global fashion.

The winners on the night included John Breslin who won the Online Trader category, sponsored by Realex Payments. John was presented with the award by Stephen McDonough of Realex Payments.

The Board of Directors of the IIA also selected Ray Nolan, of Hostelworld.com as the overall Net Visionary for 2006. He has constantly raised the bar in terms of competing in the global internet market, remained highly innovative in his approach and moved quickly to capture the opportunities. He was presented with the award by Brendan Rice of Aer Lingus, last years winner of this award.

Realex Payments would like to extend their congratulations to all of the category winners for the year, and indeed to Ray Nolan.
